All ten guest rooms open onto porches which circle a New Orleans style courtyard. A small swimming pool enchances the courtyard.

imageThe Annual Pilgrimage is dedicated to the memory of John James Audubon, who set himself the task of painting all the birds in America. Audubon painted no less than 80 of his famous folios here. The wooded blufflands excited his imagination; the early settlers who built homes in this wilderness became his friends and supporters. Oakley, where Audubon came to tutor Eliza Pirrie in 1821, is the centerpiece of the Audubon State Historic Site. The West Feliciana Historical Society stages the Pilgrimage to share with visitors the history of Audubon's Happy Land.

imageThe Feliciana Nature Society will hold their annual Feliciana Hummingbird Celebration on Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26, 2008 in St. Francisville & West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. The event will include a Friday evening speakers and the opportunity to observe hummingbirds up close as they are banded at two private homes in the St. Francisville area and one other home for viewing and light refreshments.. Hummingbird-friendly plants as well as crafts and birding optics will also be available for sale.

Owner of the St. Francisville Inn, Patrick Walsh, is an outdoor photographer specializing in birds and landscapes. One of his favorite locations is kayaking on Cat Island NWR. To view or purchase his work visit the West Feliciana Parish Historic Society Museum on Ferdinand St., Rosedown Plantation State Historic Site or the St. Francisville Inn.

Merchandise for Sale

The St. Francisville Inn also offers for sale various items throughout the mainhouse. Small antique peices such as clocks, mirrors and glassware are mixed about the wine parlor and dinning rooms. Art and photograph from Murrell Butler, Yolanda D'Aquillia and Patrick Walsh can also be found for sale. Historian and writer, Anne Butler, has several of her books for purchase.
