The landscape of West Feliciana Parish is unique to the rest of Louisiana with rolling hills, deep ravines and large variety of plant and wildlife animals. Marking the area are state parks, wildlife management areas, refuge, state commemorative areas, waterfalls, swamps and battlefields.
Outdoor activities in West Feliciana & St Francisville Area consist of birdwatching, golf, hiking, cycing, running, photography, camping, and horseback riding. This list is actually very much under construction with more coming soon.

Bayou Sara - The Waterway

Cat Island National Wildlife Refuge -
A highlight of the area is where the National Bald-cyress residents. Wildlife viewing, birding, photography and hiking on undisturbed. Canoeing and kayaking are permitted during high water stage when the swamp is flooded.

Tunica Hills Wildlife Management Area -
Wildlife viewing, birding, photography and hiking on rugged hills, bluffs and ravines. Future plans are to add structure walking trails in the tree canopy.

Mary Ann Brown Preserve - The Louisana Nature Conservancy
The Mary Ann Brown Preserve encompasses 109 acres rich in upland forest, wildlife and flora. Several well-marked hiking trails, including a self-guided interpretive trail, provide a relaxing adventure through slightly steep slopes, sandy bottom streams and easy walks on ridge tops. The Preserve is run by the Nature Conservancy. Camping is permitted by reservation only. |

Port Hudson State Commemorative Area
Hike the six miles of well marked trails on this 899 acres of historic battlefield. Along the trails you will find three observation towers, an elevated broadwalk over the breastworks in the Fort Desperate Area, a museum, a picnic area and restrooms. And of course there are creeks, ponds, flora, and plenty of wildlife.
